I specialise in personalised coaching and mentoring tailored specifically for school leaders at all levels of your leadership journey.
After 25 years in school leadership roles as a Head teacher and Executive Head teacher, I offer a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting leaders to grow in confidence, resilience and impact.
I provide a confidential, safe space to explore the complexities and persistent problems specific to the role of school leadership.
Whether you are interested in a series of sessions for yourself or developing a team, a career development chat, leadership application support or the space to script a pending tricky conversation - I am able to help you reach the solution you need.
My work may complement mentoring or coaching you receive within your workplace but importantly it is totally confidential and unrelated to any performance metrics that may exist for you at work. In this way, clients are able to be their true selves and develop solutions and skills that enable them to grow and thrive in this most challenging of working environments.
I work with aspiring or current school leaders; middle and senior school leaders, Assistant and Deputy Head teachers, Heads of School, Head teachers and Executive Heads and with governors and business managers.
As a qualified coach, my domain specific knowledge of school leadership will supports leaders to fill the skills and attitudes gaps that NPQs and other leadership programmes may have left.
Many of you will have come across coaching in some form. There are many definitions and practices across the education and leadership sector described as "coaching".
I work with clients to fully understand what is the true issue in question - most often this lies in needing to fully step into leadership and be ready and skilled enough to have direct / impactful conversations with colleagues. NPQs are thought to be not fully preparing leaders to show up with authority in the workplace and to able to challenge any personal limiting beliefs. Through coaching and mentoring, leaders can develop the attributes and skills that may be underdeveloped during training on the otherwise excellent leadership NPQs.*
The benefit of working with a coach or mentor who is NOT a direct colleague at work / or within your trust or MAT is the totally confidential nature of the work we do together. As a coach, I work with clients to scaffold the main issues that are on your mind, the options and solutions you have considered and rehearse and build your skills and confidence to take the action you decide to take.
Feedback from current clients state that to work with a coach outside their immediate school system/ partnership or MAT - with someone with no "vested interest" or judgement - means they can be fully "free" to be vulnerable, unsure and to have the time to fully work out their thoughts and solutions - thus building confidence and resilience.
